Filter Strengths
The NiSi Black Mist Filters are available in three different strengths: 1/2 (strongest effect), 1/4, and 1/8 (subtle effect). This kit includes two circular Black Mist filters with strengths 1/4 and 1/8.
Effect and Usage
These filters soften or diffuse images to create a special atmospheric effect by reducing excess sharpness and contrast. They add an extra dimension and character to your pictures by producing a soft, pastel-like quality of light. Light sources receive a pleasant diffusion while shadows maintain their depth and blackness. The filters also lower contrast and soften wrinkles and blemishes, making them ideal for portrait and cinematic photography.
