Known for its flexibility and superior construction, the 175 cm (69") Rotalux Octabox from Elinchrom features a very large surface area that provides a pronounced wrap-around quality of light, especially when used close to the subject. This makes it popular for fashion photography, group shots, and large sets.

The Octabox is so large that many photographers use it as their only light source, as it offers delicate illumination with open shadows. Its unique octagonal shape also produces natural-looking catchlights in the eyes of subjects.

Diffusion and Light Control

• Removable interior and exterior white diffusers can be used individually, together, or omitted to adjust contrast and softness.
• Optional translucent deflectors bounce light to the back of the Octabox to eliminate hotspots and further soften the light.
• A separately available hooded diffuser limits spill light.
• An optional collapsible fabric grid narrows the beam angle and prevents spill light.

Construction and Compatibility

• The softbox has a silver interior for maximum light output.
• It requires a separately purchased speed ring compatible with various mounts including Elinchrom, S-Mount Bowens, Broncolor Pulso, Hensel EH, AlienBee, Balcar, Comet, and Profoto OCF.
• The speed ring features spring-loaded sockets allowing tension-free mounting of support poles that snap into place.
• Comes with a storage and transport bag.
