Digiscoping with Kowa Spotting Scopes

The Kowa TSN-DA10 adapter enables digiscoping by connecting your digital camera to Kowa spotting scopes, specifically the TSN-99, TSN-88, TSN-880, and TSN-770 series when used with Kowa TE-11WZ or TE-80XW eyepieces. This adapter facilitates simple and affordable digiscoping solutions compatible with various camera types, including Micro Four Thirds and DSLR cameras.

TSN-DA vs. TSN-PA Adapters

The TSN-DA adapter mounts directly on the eyepiece, suitable for lighter cameras such as Micro Four Thirds systems. In contrast, the TSN-PA adapter fits over the eyepiece and attaches to the spotting scope body, providing greater stability for heavier DSLR cameras. TSN-PA adapters are available separately as optional accessories.

TSN-DA10 Compatibility

• Compatible with Kowa TSN-99, TSN-88, TSN-880, and TSN-770 spotting scopes combined with TE-11WZ or TE-80XW eyepieces.

For other Kowa spotting scopes such as TSN-601, TSN-66, TSN-82SV series with TE-Z9B or TE-14WD eyepieces, TSN-550 series, or High Lander models, the TSN-DA20 adapter is recommended.

Installation Instructions

1. Remove the Twist Up from the eyepiece and screw the DA10 inner ring onto it to ensure a stable connection.
2. Attach the optional Kowa TSN-AR42GT adapter ring to the DA10 outer ring, then connect a standard T2 adapter compatible with your camera system.
3. Connect the assembly to your camera body, slide the DA10 and camera combination over the inner ring, and secure it with the thumbscrew.

Filter Thread Connection

The adapter can also be connected to your camera lens via its filter thread using Kowa TSN-AR adapter rings available in sizes 28, 30, 30.5, 37, 43, 46, 58, 62, and 72 mm. Step-up or step-down rings can be used if your lens has a different filter thread size.

Important Notes

The TSN-DA10 system supports all sensor sizes; however, cameras with heavier lenses may exert excessive pressure on the lens filter thread. Kowa disclaims any responsibility for damage caused to equipment when using these adapters.
