The Nano IR Medium Graduated Neutral Density (GND) filter from NiSi is specially designed for landscape photographers. It is made from high-quality optical glass (H-K9L) with nano coating on both sides to prevent any loss of detail and to repel water and oil.

Filter Design and Functionality

This rectangular filter features a medium transition line with a dark area at the top gradually fading to clear at the bottom, effectively preventing overexposure of skies while maintaining normal exposure in other parts of the image. The filter can be repositioned within the holder to recompose the photo for optimal results.

The medium-edged transition is particularly useful for scenes containing buildings, mountains, or other elements protruding into the skyline.

Infrared Protection

Neutral density filters can be vulnerable to infrared light, which may cause unwanted red color casts in photos taken at small apertures. NiSi has added an infrared protection coating layer to this filter to eliminate infrared light passing through the lens, restoring natural colors.
