Filter System Advantages
Square and rectangular filter systems offer solutions that round screw-on filters cannot. One square or rectangular filter can be used across multiple lens sizes with appropriate adapter rings, making it economical and versatile.
Rectangular filters can be shifted vertically within the holder to blend transitions seamlessly into the scene, which is especially useful in landscape photography where balancing light intensity between a bright sky and shaded foreground is desired.
Graduated rectangular filters are available with either soft or hard transitions from dark to clear. Soft edges are recommended for wide-angle lenses, while hard edges suit normal and longer focal lengths.
