This custom low-profile replacement foot is designed to replace the factory foot on the rotation collar of the Nikon 500 f/5.6 PF VR lens. It serves as an Arca-Swiss style quick-release plate, eliminating the bulk and complexity of an additional plate. The Wimberley lens foot improves lens handling on conventional tripod heads, such as ball heads, and facilitates easier packing.

By using this replacement foot on your large lens, the overall height of the lens is decreased, lowering the center of gravity. This adjustment makes it easier to achieve proper balance when used on gimbal heads like the Wimberley Head. When using the Sidekick or Sidemount Wimberley Head, replacement feet are useful and sometimes required for optimal gimbal head performance.
