The Sony HXR-NX800 is a professional 4K HDR NXCAM camcorder featuring a 1.0-type Exmor RS™ stacked CMOS sensor with approximately 14.0 effective megapixels. This sensor's unique stacked structure with back-illuminated pixels layered over integrated signal processing circuits enables high sensitivity, low noise, and fast readout speeds, supporting up to 120fps in 4K and 240fps in Full HD (with approx. 23% crop).

Lens and Zoom Capabilities

  • Sony G Lens: 24mm wide-angle with 20x optical zoom (24-480 mm equivalent in 35mm full-frame terms).
  • Clear Image Zoom: Extends zoom to 30x in 4K and 40x in Full HD.
  • Aperture: Maximum apertures of F2.8 (wide) and F4.5 (telephoto).

Exposure and Autofocus Features

  • Electronically Variable ND Filter: Adjustable from 1/4 to 1/128 ND with a dial or automatic exposure control via Auto ND function.
  • Fast Hybrid Autofocus: AI-powered with real-time tracking and auto-framing, covering 81% of the frame for precise focus on human subjects.
