Advanced Control Panel for ATEM Series
The Blackmagic Design ATEM 2 M/E Advanced Panel is a professional broadcast control surface designed to operate the most powerful ATEM switchers. It supports up to 4 M/E (Mix/Effects) channels and integrates up to 24 separate LCD displays for customizable button labels, 4 LCD displays for parameter settings, and 4 T-Bar controls. The panel can be mounted directly to overhead tables or used as a standalone unit.
Ergonomic and High-Quality Controls
This panel complements the ATEM Constellation switcher, enabling easier creation of complex live shows. It offers a more ergonomic alternative to software control panels with high-quality buttons, rotary knobs, and lever controls.

- Two rows of M/E with 20 input buttons and 2 LCD displays for function settings.
- Control of up to 4 M/E channels for larger switchers.
- Color-coded input buttons with customizable labels via dedicated LCD displays.
- Joystick for precise control of TWO (Transitioning Wipe Object) effects in X, Y, and Z axes.
- Ergonomic T-Bar lever for smooth blending and transitions between video sources.
- Displays for parameter settings allow control of hundreds of parameters including keying, interlacing, DVE effects, color generators, multi-view settings, button mapping, and video standard selection.
- Ability to save and recall up to 10 console settings for quick configuration changes.
- Macro creation and triggering directly from the panel with LCD labels identifying assigned macros, eliminating the need for a computer during live operation.
Advanced Video Switching and Effects
The panel supports independent Program and Preview buses for fast and accurate shot switching. Operators can preview sources on the Preview bus via Aux output or Multi-view, then cut or auto-transition them into the program output. Immediate shot selection is also possible directly on the Program bus.
Blending options between video sources are displayed on the LCD screens, allowing operators to adjust effects without navigating complex menus. Effects include SMPTE blending with edge blur and complex DVE blending where individual elements can be positioned and sized using the T-Bar and joystick. Additional controls adjust shadows, lighting, and other parameters.
Compatibility and Updates
The ATEM 2 M/E Advanced Panel is designed to work seamlessly with the ATEM Constellation switcher series. A firmware update (ATEM 8.5.3, December 2020) addresses occasional spontaneous video source switching issues for this panel and the 4 M/E Advanced Panel.
