General Description
The Blackmagic Design ATEM 1 M/E Advanced Panel is a compact, elegantly designed hardware control panel compatible with all ATEM switchers. It incorporates the latest broadcast technology, featuring smooth professional buttons, knobs, a T-Bar fader, joystick, and a built-in LCD display.
Designed for precise control over ATEM live production switchers, it is ideal for complex live television productions involving multiple cameras and sources. Its compact size fits into a standard equipment rack, making it suitable for fly-away kits, outside broadcast trucks, and live events with limited space.
Control Interface
The panel features newly designed buttons with LCD-based labels to enhance clarity and reduce incorrect key presses. Buttons have customizable color backlighting to indicate status and activity. Dynamic displays above and below the buttons provide customizable text, multi-language support, and custom label colors, enabling quick identification of important keys during fast-paced live productions.
The layout, developed with professional broadcasters, includes a custom-designed T-Bar fader and logically grouped buttons in a familiar broadcast layout. Dedicated button groups for transitions, macros, and keyers are spaced apart to prevent accidental presses. A shift button doubles the number of controllable inputs from 10 to 20.
New M/E selection buttons allow control of up to 4 independent mix effect rows (M/Es) on a single panel, enabling total control of a 4 M/E switcher from this 1 M/E hardware panel. This functionality supports use with the ATEM 4 M/E Broadcast Studio 4K.
Display and Controls
The upper section includes a large 5-inch LCD with 4 soft buttons and 4 soft knobs, dedicated function buttons on the left, and a numeric keypad plus professional joystick on the right. The color screen displays clear labels for preview and program buses, automatically adapting to current functions and providing controls for adjusting transition rates, effects, graphics, and more.
