Compatibility and Design

The Commlite CoMix CM-EF-NEX is a bayonet adapter designed to mount Canon EF and EF-S lenses onto Sony E-mount cameras. This second version adapter supports electronic communication between the lens and camera, ensuring full functionality with Canon EOS EF/EF-S lenses and Sony E-mount bodies, including full-frame Sony E-series cameras such as the A7 series (A7R, A7S, A7II).

Functionality

The adapter allows the use of Canon EF and EF-S lenses on Sony full-frame E-mount cameras by attaching the adapter to the Sony E-mount camera body, then mounting the Canon lens onto the adapter. It features an electronic system with terminals that enable communication between the camera and lens, supporting autofocus (AF) motor operation, iris control, image stabilization, and transfer of lens information.

Camera focus and aperture can be controlled automatically, with manual adjustments available via camera body controls. Upon mounting, the camera recognizes the Canon lens as a Sony E-mount lens with full support for AF, iris control, and stabilization. The adapter supports both still photography and video recording modes.

Build and Additional Features

The adapter includes a tripod mount to securely support heavy lenses and camera setups, ensuring safety for both lens and camera. It is constructed from robust metal for durability and offers simple and quick installation.
