Compatibility Notes

  • Canon EF-mount lenses (full-frame and APS-C) may not fully cover Fujifilm GFX sensors when used without an optical expander adapter.

Limitations

  • Lens hoods designed for 3:2 aspect ratio may require removal for 4:3 aspect ratio use with Smart Expander.
  • Each lens requires a calibration procedure before first use; instructions available in the online manual.
  • Autofocus performance may vary; some lenses may not autofocus properly.
  • For video autofocus, adjust focus sensitivity and AF speed in AF-C custom settings.
  • Use aperture priority or manual exposure modes for video to avoid flickering; EF lenses lack fine aperture control needed by Fujifilm cameras.
  • AF+MF and lens aberration correction are not supported.
  • Older film-era lenses may have insufficient AF accuracy; worn lenses with faulty sensors can cause AF issues.
  • Aperture diaphragm noise is common with older lenses; smooth iris lenses recommended.
  • IS mode settings are ignored; IS behavior mimics Canon cameras, which may differ from Fujifilm OIS lenses.
  • Manual focus distance display is unsupported; autofocus distance display works if lens transmits data.

Unsupported Features

  • Lens corrections such as peripheral shading, chromatic aberration, and distortion.
  • Focus confirmation chips (e.g., Dandelion) are not supported.

Construction and Design

  • Both camera and lens mounts are precision-machined brass with chromium plating for smooth mounting and durability.
  • Strong leaf-spring structure on lens side ensures tight lens connection, reducing wear and focus errors.
  • Matte-black internal treatment minimizes reflections to maintain optical quality.
