Compatibility and Usage
- Designed as a rear I/O module for Blackmagic OpenGear Converter cards.
- Compatible with 20-card, 2RU openGear rack frames, which support hot-swappable card installation and removal while powered on.
- Included with Blackmagic OpenGear converters; no separate purchase required.
Connectivity and Signal Support
- Features industry-standard BNC connectors for SDI and analog video connections.
- Uses openGear WECO 3-pin block connectors (type 930-HFL) for balanced audio on supported models.
- Supports SD-SDI, HD-SDI, 2K, and 3G-SDI video formats with embedded audio.
- Compatible with ancillary data and ASI signals.
Functionality
- SDI Distribution rear module provides 1 SDI input and 10 SDI outputs, all carrying identical SDI video and audio signals.
- Operates as a passive, zero-latency distribution amplifier for routing one SDI signal to multiple outputs within an openGear system.
- When OpenGear UpDownCross is disabled, it functions as an SDI distribution amplifier; the dedicated SDI Distribution module offers multi-output distribution capability.
