Polarizing Filter Functionality

Light rays reflected from surfaces become polarized. Polarizing filters selectively control which light rays enter the camera lens, effectively removing unwanted reflections from non-metallic surfaces such as water or glass. They also enhance color saturation and improve contrast. The effect is visible through the viewfinder and can be adjusted by rotating the filter. The filter factor varies depending on the rotation and orientation relative to the sun.

Hoya Fusion Antistatic Filter Features

Hoya's newly developed Antistatic coating acts as a protective force field around the filter, repelling dust and reducing the need for frequent cleaning, especially in dusty environments. The hardened antistatic top layer is water repellent, stain resistant, scratch resistant, and easy to clean from smudges or fingerprints.

These professional-grade filters are manufactured in Japan using hand-selected silicates that are carefully smelted and blended to produce high-performance optical glass. Hoya applies an improved 9-layer Super Multi-coating formula that significantly reduces or eliminates surface reflections, resulting in ultra-clear glass with a high transmission rate. This ensures the filter has virtually no impact on color balance, contrast, or image clarity.
