The Samyang AF 24mm F1.8 FE lens features a unique Custom Mode with an LED indicator designed specifically for astrophotography. This mode is activated via the newly designed Focus Hold button, allowing direct focus adjustment to infinity. Users can save a precise infinity focus value tailored to their specific Sony E-mount camera body, ensuring accurate focus for long-exposure night sky photography.
If the saved focus value does not match the current setting, the LED indicator will display red. Pressing the Focus Hold button will automatically adjust the focus to the saved value, turning the LED green. This function is especially useful for photographers working in dark environments for extended periods.
Optical Design and Image Quality
Utilizing Samyang's latest optical technology, this large-aperture wide-angle prime lens delivers exceptional corner-to-corner resolution even at the maximum aperture of F1.8. The lens construction includes 11 elements in 8 groups, incorporating 7 special elements: 2 aspherical (ASP), 3 high refractive (HR), and 2 extra-low dispersion (ED) lenses.
