Compact and Portable Design
The Sony Alpha a7C combines the high image quality of a full-frame sensor with a compact, lightweight body inspired by rangefinder styling. It is approximately 20% smaller and lighter than other a7-series cameras, making it ideal for everyday carry and travel photography.
Image Quality and Performance
Equipped with a 24.2MP back-illuminated Exmor R CMOS sensor and BIONZ X processor, the camera delivers high-resolution stills and UHD 4K video with low noise and wide dynamic range (up to 15 stops). The sensor features a gapless on-chip lens design and anti-reflective coating for enhanced light gathering and detail. ISO sensitivity ranges from 50 to 204800 (expanded), supporting shooting in diverse lighting conditions.
The camera supports continuous shooting at up to 10 frames per second with full autofocus and auto exposure, capturing up to 223 JPEG or 115 RAW frames consecutively.
Advanced Autofocus System
The Fast Hybrid AF system covers most of the frame with 693 phase-detection points and 425 contrast-detection areas, enabling fast, accurate focusing down to -4 EV. It supports Real-time Eye AF for humans and animals, Real-time Tracking, and touch tracking for precise subject tracking in both stills and video modes.
5-Axis In-Body Image Stabilization
The built-in 5-axis SteadyShot INSIDE image stabilization compensates for pitch, yaw, horizontal and vertical shift, and roll camera shake, providing up to 5 stops of stabilization. This system works with all lenses, including adapted and optically stabilized lenses, ensuring sharp handheld images and smooth video.
