26.0MP Exmor R CMOS Sensor and BIONZ XR Processor
The 26MP APS-C Exmor R CMOS sensor with back-illuminated structure enhances resolution and sensitivity. The BIONZ XR processor, also used in the FX30 Digital Cinema Camera, supports 10-bit UHD 4K video at up to 120 fps and continuous still shooting at 11 fps with autofocus and auto exposure. The ISO range spans 100-32000, expandable to ISO 50-102400 for stills, providing excellent low-light performance with minimal noise and over 14 stops of dynamic range.

AI-Powered Autofocus and Image Stabilization
The AI Processing Unit enhances autofocus and image stabilization with 759 phase detection points for stills and 495 points for video, covering 93% of the frame. It provides real-time subject recognition and tracking, focus bracketing up to 299 images, low-light autofocus down to EV -3.0, focus breathing compensation, autofocus assist, focus mapping, and focus peaking.
Vlog-Friendly AI-Enhanced Framing
The AI unit tracks subjects during video recording, automatically cropping to keep the subject prominent. This tracking is customizable in position, speed, and sensitivity via touchscreen controls.
5-Axis Pixel-Level Image Stabilization
The camera features a 5-axis optical image stabilization system optimized for pixel-level precision, compensating for five types of camera shake. The AI unit improves communication between body and lens for stable framing, supporting use of adapted lenses without blur.
Advanced Still Image Rendering
The a6700 supports HEIF format in 4:2:0 and 4:2:2 for high-quality images with efficient storage. Raw files can be compressed or lossless compressed. The AI unit improves auto exposure reliability by 20% over the a6600, with adjustments for skin tones, backlighting, and white balance. Creative Looks presets and user-defined configurations with eight adjustable parameters are available for stills. A Hybrid Log-Gamma mode optimized for stills enables accurate 10-bit HEIF dynamic range viewing on compatible monitors and TVs.
