The lens features a bright f/1.4 maximum aperture, ideal for challenging lighting conditions, and provides enhanced control over depth of field for isolating subjects and employing selective focus techniques.
Optical Design
The optical design incorporates two aspherical elements and one SLD element, effectively reducing both spherical and chromatic aberrations, resulting in greater sharpness and clarity. A Super Multi-Layer Coating is applied to minimize flare and ghosting, achieving improved contrast and color accuracy in strong lighting conditions.
Autofocus System
Complementing the optics is a stepping AF motor, which is suitable for both photo and video applications due to its quick, precise, and near-silent performance.
