Ultra HD and 8K Live Production Switcher
The Blackmagic Design ATEM Constellation 8K is a high-end live production switcher designed for Ultra HD and 8K workflows. It features a compact 2RU rack-mount design with a built-in control panel and LCD screen for program monitoring and switcher configuration.

Design and Control
The switcher includes a front panel with 42 LED buttons for source selection, transitions, talkback, and menu navigation. The built-in HD LCD monitor displays program output and on-screen menus. Control can be performed via the front panel, Ethernet connection, or the included ATEM Software Control Panel for Mac and Windows.
Input and Output Capabilities
Each of the 40 12G-SDI inputs supports formats up to 2160p60 in HD/Ultra HD mode, or 10 Quad Link 12G-SDI inputs for 8K formats up to 4320p60. All inputs feature dedicated frame rate and format converters. Outputs include 24 12G-SDI aux outputs with embedded program audio, mix-minus support, RP-188 timecode, SDI camera control, tally, and talkback.
Multi View Monitoring
Four independent multi-view outputs can be customized to display 4, 7, 10, 13, or 16 views each, with on-screen labels, VU meters, and tally indicators. In 8K mode, these can be combined into a single full-resolution 8K multiview.
Transitions and Effects
The switcher offers a wide range of native 8K broadcast-quality transitions including mix, dip, wipe, and DVE transitions. Transition parameters such as duration, border color, width, position, and direction are fully adjustable.
Audio Features
Integrated Fairlight audio mixer supports 156 channels, including 80 de-embedded from SDI inputs and 64 via MADI input. Each channel includes a 6-band parametric EQ, compressor, limiter, expander, noise gate, and full panning. Talkback is supported via front 5-pin XLR headset connector and rear RJ12 expansion connector, with program and engineering loops, sidetone control, and SDI talkback channels for camera communication.
Media Pool and Keying
The media pool stores broadcast-quality RGBA graphics and animations with capacity for 24 full-resolution 8K stills, 64 Ultra HD/HD stills, and motion clips up to 100 frames in 8K. The 16 ATEM Advanced Keyers provide high-quality chroma, luminance, pattern, and DVE keying with precise edge and flare controls and foreground color correction for seamless compositing. In 8K mode, 4 full-resolution 8K keyers are available.
Software Control and Licensing
The included ATEM Software Control Panel offers comprehensive control over switching, audio mixing, media management, macro programming, and HyperDeck recorder control. All features are fully enabled with no additional license fees or ongoing costs.
