The Metabones Olympus OM Lens to Sony E-Mount Speed Booster ULTRA (Version 3) enables mounting full-frame Olympus OM lenses on Sony APS-C E-Mount cameras, increasing the maximum aperture by one f-stop and expanding the angle of view by a factor of 0.71. This adapter features a 5-element/4-group optical design with ultra-high index tantalum-based glass, delivering improved sharpness, reduced distortion, and minimal vignetting.
Designed with precision-machined brass construction, the adapter ensures a solid, gap-free connection on both camera and lens sides. The matte-black interior minimizes internal reflections to maintain maximum optical quality, while the black satin exterior finish complements modern camera aesthetics. Infinity focus is preserved, and the adapter supports lenses with Close Range Correction (CRC) or floating elements without compromising optical performance.
The Speed Booster condenses the image circle from full-frame lenses to the smaller APS-C sensor, effectively reducing the crop factor from 1.5× to 1.07×. This optical compression also increases the lens's maximum aperture by approximately one f-stop, enhancing low-light performance and enabling a shallower depth of field.
A detachable tripod foot compatible with Arca Swiss, Markins, and Photo Clam ball heads provides versatile mounting options. Note that automatic functions such as electronic aperture control and auto exposure metering are not supported; manual control is required. Although physically compatible with full-frame Sony cameras, the Speed Booster operates fully only in Crop Mode.
