The Speed Booster ULTRA 0.71x is engineered to optimize image quality by matching the smaller filter stack thickness of the BMPCC4K sensor system. This results in superior optical performance, especially at wide apertures. The adapter enhances lens luminosity and sensor coverage, improving sharpness and contrast across the frame, including the image center and periphery.
It supports full-frame (FF), DX, and APS-C lenses, including vintage and modern optics from various manufacturers. The adapter notably improves the modulation transfer function of high-performance lenses such as the Zeiss Otus series.
Optical performance is maintained even at very wide apertures (e.g., f/0.9 with an f/1.2 lens), delivering sharp, high-contrast images. Vignetting is minimal, less than one stop at maximum aperture, and negligible beyond f/2.8. Rectilinear distortion is kept below 0.7%.
