The Zoom U-22 is a mobile 2-in/2-out audio interface designed for recording and live performance. Its ultra-portable form factor allows easy connection to laptops, iPhones, and iPads, enabling high-quality audio capture anywhere.

High-Performance Mic Preamplifier

Equipped with a single high-performance, low-noise mic preamp—the same used in Zoom's acclaimed H6 Handy Recorders—the U-22 offers pristine sound quality with an equivalent input noise (EIN) of less than -120 dBu. It supports recording and playback at resolutions up to 24-bit/96 kHz, delivering studio-quality audio.

Versatile Input Options

• XLR/TRS combo input for microphone or line-level sources, featuring +48V phantom power and Hi-Z support for guitar or bass connection.
• Mini stereo input for connecting portable audio devices such as iPhones, iPads, or mixers.

Note: The U-22 records one input at a time; when using the LINE IN jack, the XLR/TRS combo input is disabled.

Power and Connectivity

• Bus-powered via USB for laptop or iPhone/iPad use (requires Apple iPad Camera Connection Kit or Lightning-to-USB Camera Adapter, sold separately).
• Operates approximately 5 hours on 2 AA alkaline batteries, with support for NiMH rechargeable batteries and optional AC adapter.

Monitoring and Outputs

• Zero-latency direct monitoring switch allows hearing the input signal without computer delay.
• Dedicated RCA stereo outputs and independent headphone output provide flexible monitoring options.
• Studio-quality headphone amplifier for high-fidelity playback.
