The Samyang AF 24-70mm f/2.8 FE is Samyang's first autofocus standard zoom lens designed with features optimized for both still photography and professional video shooting. It offers a versatile zoom range from wide-angle to short telephoto, combined with a bright constant aperture of f/2.8 throughout the zoom range.
Par-focal Zoom for Stable Video Recording
This lens features a par-focal design, maintaining focus on the subject even when zooming in or out, which is essential for smooth video capture. The focus ring uses a linear manual focus (MF) system that allows precise and intuitive focus adjustments, ideal for follow focus operation in video production. Autofocus is driven by a Linear STM motor, providing fast, quiet, and accurate focusing performance suitable for both stills and movies.
Optical Construction and Image Quality
The lens consists of 17 elements in 14 groups, including 9 special elements such as 2 aspherical (ASP), 1 hybrid aspherical (H-ASP), 3 high refractive (HR), and 3 extra-low dispersion (ED) elements. This advanced optical design ensures excellent resolution and minimal aberrations across the entire image frame. The lens also features UMC (Ultra Multi-Coating) to reduce flare and ghosting.
Bright Aperture and Bokeh
