UV Filter Functionality

The UV filter is a general-use, clear filter designed to absorb ultraviolet light without adding coloration or contrast, allowing it to be paired seamlessly with other filters. It also serves as a protective layer for lenses, reducing dust and moisture exposure and providing protection against drops and scratches.

Antistatic Coating

Hoya's newly developed Antistatic coating acts like a force field around the filter to repel dust, making it ideal for dusty environments. This coating reduces the need for frequent cleaning and maintenance compared to traditional filters. The hardened antistatic top layer is water repellent, stain resistant, scratch resistant, and easy to clean from smudges or fingerprints.

Optical Quality and Construction

The Fusion Antistatic professional filters are manufactured in Japan using hand-selected silicates that are carefully smelted and blended to produce high-performance optical glass. Hoya applies an improved 9-layer Super Multi-coating formula that significantly reduces or eliminates reflections on the glass surface, resulting in ultra-clear, high transmission with virtually no effect on color balance, contrast, or image clarity.

Filter Frame Design

The filter features a lightweight, one-piece, low-profile aluminum frame that houses the glass. This design maintains perfect parallel alignment to the sensor plane for maximum sharpness and eliminates vignetting when used on ultra-wide-angle lenses.
