Advanced Antistatic Coating

HOYA engineers have developed a new antistatic coating that acts like a force field around the filter to repel dust, making it ideal for dusty environments. This reduces the need for frequent cleaning and maintenance compared to traditional filters.

The hardened antistatic top-layer is water repellent and stain resistant, protecting against exposure to ink, markers, and other contaminants. Fingerprints and smudges wipe away easily, maintaining a clean surface for optimal image quality.

Optical Performance

The UV filter effectively cuts unwanted ultraviolet rays, reducing haze and increasing image clarity. The filter is made in Japan from hand-selected silicates that are carefully smelted and blended to produce high-performance optical glass.

Improved 18-Layer Super Multi-Coating

HOYA applies an improved 18-layer super multi-coating on both sides of the glass, greatly reducing or eliminating reflections. This results in ultra-clear glass with a high transmission rate, ensuring virtually no effect on color balance, contrast, or image clarity.

Filter Frame Design

The filter features a lightweight, one-piece, low-profile aluminum frame that houses the glass. This design maintains perfect parallel alignment to the sensor plane for maximum sharpness and eliminates vignetting when used on ultra-wide-angle lenses. The frame also includes front filter threads for additional filter stacking.
