The Blackmagic Ultimatte 11 HD/SD is a next-generation compositing device designed for blue/green screen applications in both HD and SD formats. It automatically configures to the input signal format (SD or HD 4:2:2) and is ideal for studios transitioning from SD to HD or operating in either format.
Advanced Matte and Ambiance Controls
- Enhanced Matte Controls: Utilizes modified matte algorithms for precise foreground (FG) subject separation from the background (BG).
- Matte Correction and Sizing: Analyzes matte transitions and applies targeted corrections to overdense areas, with standard matte sizing and clean up shrink and blur features.
- Ambiance Controls: Includes direct and indirect lighting features allowing the background to influence the color and brightness of the foreground subject, enabling natural and realistic integration into new environments.
Input and Output Routing
- Four-Input Router: Four SD/HD SDI inputs with active loop outputs allow flexible assignment of foreground, background, and external matte sources.
- Dual External Mattes: Supports two external matte inputs (4:0:0) simultaneously, configurable as garbage mattes, holdout mattes, or multiplexed into a single 4:4 SDI signal for full bandwidth utilization.
- Monitor Output: Provides a separate output for viewing different compositing stages (FG+BG, FG, BG, combined matte, internal matte, processed FG) without affecting main outputs. The monitor output can be mirrored horizontally for talent interaction.
