Autofocus and Stabilization
- Dual autofocus system combining a Ring Drive Super Sonic wave Motor (RDSSM) for the front lens group and double linear motors for the rear group, delivering fast, precise, and quiet autofocus optimized for both stills and video
- Focus hold buttons (three on the lens barrel) allow locking focus during continuous AF operation
- Focus range limiter switch enables presetting focusing distance ranges to speed up autofocus performance
- Optical SteadyShot (OSS) image stabilization built into the lens reduces camera shake, especially effective at longer focal lengths
- OSS Mode switch offers two modes: Mode 1 for general stabilization and Mode 2 optimized for panning shots
