High-Quality 10-bit Full Raster Recording
Ki Pro Rack records 10-bit, full raster Apple ProRes and Avid DNxHD files directly to removable hard disk or SSD Storage Modules. This ensures superior image quality with greater dynamic range compared to 8-bit devices, providing enhanced flexibility in post-production color and balance adjustments. Efficient codecs keep file sizes manageable, reducing storage costs.
Professional Integration and Control
Featuring RS-422 control, Ki Pro Rack integrates seamlessly with editing systems, external controllers, and tape decks, supporting traditional VTR functions and enabling assemble edits directly to storage modules. The RS-422 port also allows direct capture of tape-based media as ProRes files for editing or archiving.
Familiar Operation and User Interface
With dedicated Record, Play, Rewind, and Fast Forward buttons, users familiar with tape decks will find the Ki Pro Rack intuitive. The built-in 2x20 character display shows status and configuration, with a fast, flat menu system allowing full device setup without a computer.

Dual Media Drive Bays
Two storage module bays with eject buttons and select LEDs allow fast media changes without interrupting recording. Compatible with AJA Storage Modules (spinning disk or SSD) that connect via built-in FireWire 800, these modules offer longer recording times than standard tapes and are engineered for reliability.
Ethernet File Transfer and Networking
Media files can be transferred over Ethernet without removing storage modules, facilitating efficient workflows in larger facilities and reducing physical access to equipment. Multiple Ki Pro Racks can be networked for centralized control.
Integrated Hardware Conversion
Built-in AJA conversion technology supports high-quality 10-bit up/down/cross conversion during recording or playback, eliminating the need for additional devices. Conversion modes include anamorphic, pillar box, zoom, letterbox, crop, and cross-conversion between 1080i and 720p.
Remote Configuration and Control
