The SIRUI R series tripod line is broken into two different categories - the conventional R1 and R2 series tripods offer many desirable features including:

A Center Column locking collar with a special design that is very convenient to use - even while wearing gloves in cold weather.

A tripod mounting plate with a double headed, reversible screw that accommodates 1/4" and 3/8" tripod sockets.

The R3 and R4 series are uniquely designed to satisfy many needs. They can be used for still photography-with big cameras and large lenses-plus, by changing the mounting plate, they can be converted into a high quality tripod for today's latest video cameras and DSLRs with digital capabilities.

R3, R4 Series tripods have a unique mounting platform that can accept a wide range of mounting plates, bowl adapters, leveling devices, etc. for use with professional film and digital SLR and video cameras. This approach lets you quickly exchange plates with different cameras or heads (ball head, gimbal, etc.) already attached.

The center column-free design allows you to get as close as 9cm (3.5 in.) to the ground for low angle or macro shots!

The R3/R4 series is especially well suited for use with large, heavy telephoto lens - for photographing birds and other forms of wildlife.

It is also an excellent choice when shooting with high quality video equipment.
R3/R4 Series tripods offer outstanding flexibility. You can use these tripods for both DSLR and video cameras. The flat mounting plate can be easily exchanged with a wide range of adapters for various shooting applications.

R3/R4 Series tripods have the largest diameter leg tubes in the SIRUI lineup. With a maximum diameter of 36mm, they have a maximum load capacity of 20kg (44 lb.) - ideal for heavy cameras and telephoto lenses!
