The Sony Sonnar T* FE 55mm f/1.8 ZA Lens is a prime normal-length lens designed for full-frame Sony E-mount cameras. It features a bright f/1.8 maximum aperture that supports working in low-light conditions and provides greater control over focus for shallow depth of field imagery.
Optical Design and Coatings
Based on the Zeiss Sonnar optical concept, this lens uses seven elements in five groups, including three aspherical elements (two double-sided) to reduce astigmatism, field curvature, coma, and other monochromatic aberrations. The Carl Zeiss T* anti-reflective coating is applied to each lens surface to minimize lens flare and ghosting, enhancing contrast and maintaining color fidelity.
