Magnification and Optics
The Byomic Stereo Microscope BYO-ST3LED features two fixed, non-interchangeable objectives with magnifications of 2x and 4x. Coupled with the supplied wide-angle 10x eyepieces, it offers total magnifications of 20x and 40x. The eyepieces have a 30 mm diameter and a 45-degree viewing angle, providing a large field of view and excellent depth of field for comfortable observation. The interpupillary distance is adjustable between 54 and 76 mm, and the left eyepiece includes a diopter adjustment for precise focusing. Premium rubber eyecups are included to block out distractions and help maintain the correct eye distance for optimal viewing.
Construction and Stage
The microscope is housed in a robust metal body with an integrated specimen stage measuring 115 mm by 105 mm. The stage is equipped with two sturdy clamps to securely hold specimens in place during observation. It includes a 95 mm diameter contrast plate that is white on one side and black on the other, allowing for enhanced contrast depending on the specimen's characteristics.
Illumination
The BYO-ST3LED is equipped with both transmitted (back) and incident (top) LED illumination, enabling clear and versatile lighting of specimens. Illumination is powered either by the included power adapter or by three AA batteries, allowing for portable use in locations without immediate access to power outlets. The set includes a 95 mm diameter glass illuminant slide and the black/white contrast plate for varied lighting conditions.
Applications
This stereo microscope is ideal for a wide range of uses including examining stamps, coins, plants, insects, minerals, gemstones, and small animals. It is also suitable for detailed work such as electronics inspection and soldering on circuit boards. The stereo design provides depth perception essential for these tasks.
Optional Accessories and Magnification Table
