Byomic Study Microscope BYO-30

General Description

The Byomic Study Microscope BYO-30 is a biological microscope featuring backlighting, making it highly suitable for observing cells and microorganisms. Designed for experienced users, it is commonly used in secondary schools. The microscope offers a magnification range from 20x up to 640x.

Body and Mechanical Features

The microscope has a sturdy metal housing with an integrated specimen stage measuring 100 by 90 mm. The stage is equipped with two robust clamps to securely hold specimens in place, ensuring stable observation. Additionally, a cross table can be mounted on the stage to facilitate precise measurement of specimen size, such as larvae. When using the cross table, the clamps must be removed.

Focus adjustment is achieved via a focus wheel that changes the distance between the objective lens and the stage, allowing for clear observation at the correct focal length.

On the back of the housing, near the power cable, there is an on/off switch for controlling the illumination, and a fuse is located on the opposite side. The illumination intensity can be adjusted using a rotating wheel positioned on the right side of the microscope.

Optical Components

The BYO-30 includes one wide-angle eyepiece with 10x magnification and two additional eyepieces with 5x and 16x magnifications respectively. The eyepiece tube accepts eyepieces with a diameter of 23 mm, allowing for optional eyepiece replacements.

The objective turret holds three achromatic lenses with magnifications of 4x, 10x, and 40x, enabling a maximum total magnification of 640x. These objectives can be interchanged to achieve other magnifications if desired.

Illumination System

Illumination is provided by an LED light source located beneath the stage, offering backlighting for clear specimen viewing.

A five-hole rotating diaphragm under the stage allows selection of different aperture sizes to control the amount of light passing through the specimen. The brightness of the LED illumination can be finely adjusted using a control knob on the right side of the stage.

Applications

The Byomic Study Microscope BYO-30 is suitable for examining bacteria and parasites in fish and manure, as well as for analyzing blood and urine samples.
