Optical System and Magnification

The Byomic Beginners Microscope Set offers magnification ranging from 40x up to 1024x. It includes two wide-angle eyepieces (WF10x and WF16x) and a revolving nosepiece with three interchangeable objectives (4x, 10x, and 40x). A Barlow lens is also included to further increase magnification. The microscope features a USB eyepiece allowing live image display on a computer or laptop, making it suitable for digital observation and classroom use with a Digiboard.

Mechanical Design

The microscope has a robust metal body and a movable stage measuring 90 x 70 mm. The stage height is adjustable via a focus wheel to achieve sharp focus on specimens. Two specimen clamps secure slides in place. A color filter disc with six colors (red, orange, yellow, green, blue, and an additional color) enables varied illumination for enhanced specimen observation.

Illumination

This transmitted and reflected light microscope is powered by an adapter with a switch to toggle between illumination modes or activate both simultaneously. A rotary knob on the base controls light intensity for optimal viewing conditions.

Applications

The microscope is suitable for examining bacteria, parasites in fish, manure, blood, and urine samples. It is ideal for educational and beginner microscopy purposes.

Eyepiece Compatibility

Additional eyepieces with different specifications can be used by removing the Barlow lens from the tube. Without the Barlow lens, eyepieces with a diameter of 23 mm can be inserted; with the Barlow lens in place, 20 mm eyepieces are compatible.

Software and Connectivity

The USB eyepiece comes with software compatible with Windows XP, Vista, 7, 8, and 10. The software enables image capture and live viewing on a PC. For computers without a CD drive, the software is available for download.
