NiSi Athena Prime Cine Lens Series
The NiSi Athena Prime Cine lenses cover focal lengths from 14 mm ultra-wide angle to 85 mm portrait lengths, providing exceptional versatility for various shooting scenarios and subjects.
Optical Performance
These lenses use T-stop values to measure actual light transmission, ensuring consistent exposure across all focal lengths. The 25 mm, 35 mm, 50 mm, and 85 mm lenses feature a maximum aperture of T1.9, enabling soft bokeh effects for beautiful background separation. The 14 mm lens has a T2.4 aperture.
They offer an impressive image circle diameter of 46 mm, supporting full-frame and large-format sensors.
Mount Options and Aberration Control
The series is available in ARRI PL, Canon RF, Sony E, Panasonic/Leica L, and Fuji G mounts. These lenses provide exceptionally low chromatic aberration and excellent micro-contrast control for superior image quality and fine detail resolution.
Focus Breathing Minimization
Athena Prime lenses are engineered to minimize focus breathing, so the field of view changes very little when adjusting focus from minimum focus distance to infinity, regardless of aperture setting.
Patented Rear Filter System
The Athena Prime series features a Drop-In filter mount for enhanced flexibility and creative control. RF, L, and G mounts include the Drop-In filter option; E-mount lenses come in two versions: with and without Drop-In filter; PL-mount lenses use a rear filter.
- Sony FX9 cameras cannot use E-mount lenses with Drop-In filters.
- To achieve infinity focus and sharp images, transparent Drop-In filters must be used with RF, L, G, and E mounts; PL mounts require the rear filter.
NiSi also offers weather protection for the Drop-In filters.
Uniform Weight and Handling
All NiSi Athena Prime lenses have similar weight, eliminating the need for rebalancing on gimbals when switching lenses. They share a consistent 77 mm filter thread size, and aperture and focus rings are harmonized across the range.
Focus Rotation and Markings
Each lens provides 300° focus rotation and fluorescent focus scales marked in both imperial and metric units for precise focusing.
Compatibility and Accessories
Designed for user convenience, these lenses feature standard 0.8 mod focus and aperture gears compatible with a wide range of follow focus and matte box systems.
A 77 mm close-up lens is available separately to reduce minimum focus distance and create excellent macro effects.
