NiSi Athena Prime Cine Lens Series
The NiSi Athena Prime cine lenses cover focal lengths from 14 mm ultra-wide angle to 85 mm, including ultra-wide and portrait options, providing excellent versatility for various shooting scenarios and subjects.
Optical Performance
Featuring T-stop values that measure actual light transmission, the 25 mm, 35 mm, 50 mm, and 85 mm lenses have a maximum aperture of T1.9, enabling soft bokeh and beautiful background separation. The 14 mm lens has a T2.4 aperture. The image circle diameter is 46 mm, suitable for full-frame and large-format sensors.
Mount Options and Image Quality
The series is available in ARRI PL, Canon RF, Sony E, Panasonic/Leica L, and Fuji G mounts. They deliver exceptionally low chromatic aberration and excellent micro-contrast control for fine image detail and superior image quality.
Focus Breathing Minimization
Designed to minimize focus breathing, these lenses maintain a nearly constant field of view when adjusting focus from minimum distance to infinity, regardless of focal length or aperture.
Patented Rear Filter System
The Athena Prime series includes a Drop-In filter mount for enhanced creative control. RF, L-, and G-mount lenses feature the Drop-In filter option. E-mount lenses come in versions with or without Drop-In filters, while PL-mount lenses use a rear filter.
- Sony FX9 cameras cannot use E-mount lenses with Drop-In filters.
- To achieve infinity focus and sharp images, use a transparent Drop-In filter for RF, L-, G-, and E-mounts, and a rear filter for PL mount.
Weather protection is available for the Drop-In filter system.
Uniform Weight and Handling
All Athena Prime lenses have similar weight, eliminating the need to rebalance gimbals when switching lenses. They share a 77 mm filter thread size, and aperture and focus rings are matched across the range.
Focus Rotation and Markings
Each lens features 300° focus rotation and fluorescent focus scales marked in both imperial and metric units for precise focusing.
Compatibility and Accessories
With standard 0.8 mod focus and aperture gears, these lenses are compatible with a wide range of follow focus and matte box systems. NiSi also offers a 77 mm close-up lens (sold separately) to reduce minimum focus distance and enable macro effects.
