The NiSi Athena Prime Cine Lens 18mm T2.2 PL-Mount is part of a versatile series covering focal lengths from 14mm ultra-wide angle to 135mm portrait, suitable for a wide range of shooting scenarios and subjects.
Optical Performance
- Maximum aperture of T2.2 for the 18mm lens, ensuring consistent exposure with T-stop rating measuring actual light transmission.
- 46mm image circle compatible with full-frame and large-format sensors.
- Ultra-low chromatic aberration and micro-contrast control for unparalleled image quality and finer image details.
- Minimized focus breathing, maintaining a stable field of view when adjusting focus from minimum distance to infinity.
Mount and Filter System
- Available in ARRI PL mount for this model.
- Features a proprietary rear filtration system with a Drop-In filter mount for creative flexibility.
- For PL-mount lenses, a rear filter is used; it is essential to use the Drop-In clear filter or rear filter to achieve infinity focus and clear images.
- Weather-sealed Drop-In filter options enhance durability.
Design and Handling
- All Athena Prime lenses share similar weight and a 77mm filter thread (except the 14mm lens), allowing easy lens changes without rebalancing on gimbals.
- Focus rotation of 300° with fluorescent focus scales in both imperial and metric units for precise focus pulls.
- Standard 0.8 mod focus and iris gears ensure compatibility with various follow focus and matte box systems.
- NiSi 77mm close-up lens (sold separately) can be used to reduce minimum focus distance for macro effects.
