The NiSi Athena Prime 40mm T1.9 E-Mount lens is part of a versatile cine lens series featuring focal lengths from 14mm to 135mm, covering ultra-wide to portrait perspectives. This series is designed for cinematographers and videographers seeking uncompromising image quality and performance.
Optical Performance
- Maximum aperture of T1.9 for 25/35/40/50 & 85mm lenses, enabling soft bokeh and beautiful background separation.
- Impressive image circle of 46mm, suitable for full-frame and large-format sensors.
- Ultra-low chromatic aberration and micro-contrast control for finer image details.
- Minimized focus breathing ensures minimal field of view change when focusing from minimum distance to infinity.
Proprietary Rear Filtration System
The Athena Prime lenses feature a Drop-In filter mount system for enhanced creative control. The E-Mount version is available with or without the Drop-In filter option.
- Important: Sony FX9 cameras cannot use the E-Mount version with Drop-In filters.
- Use the Drop-In clear filter on RF, L, G, and E mounts to achieve infinity focus and clear images.
- The Drop-In filter is weather sealed for durability.
Design and Compatibility
- All Athena Prime lenses share similar weight, eliminating the need for gimbal rebalancing when switching lenses.
- Standard 0.8 mod focus and iris gears ensure compatibility with follow focus and matte box systems.
- Focus rotation of 300° with fluorescent focus scales in both imperial and metric units for precise focus pulls.
- Except for the 14mm lens, all lenses share a 77mm filter thread.
Additional Features
- NiSi 77mm close-up lens (sold separately) can be used to reduce minimum focus distance and create macro effects.
