The NiSi Athena Prime 40mm T1.9 G-Mount lens is part of a versatile cine lens series offering focal lengths from 14mm to 135mm, covering ultra-wide to portrait perspectives. This lens features a fast maximum aperture of T1.9, enabling soft bokeh and excellent background separation, ideal for cinematic video production.
Optical Performance
- Image circle of 46mm suitable for full-frame and large-format sensors.
- Ultra-low chromatic aberration and enhanced micro-contrast for superior image detail.
- Minimized focus breathing ensures consistent field of view when focusing from minimum distance to infinity.
Mount and Filter System
- G-Mount version without Drop-In filter included; compatible with NiSi's proprietary rear filtration system.
- Drop-In filter mount available on RF, L, and G mounts (optional), providing creative control and flexibility.
- Use of Drop-In clear filter is required for infinity focus and clear images.
- Weather-sealed Drop-In filters available separately.
Design and Handling
- Consistent weight and 77mm filter thread across the Athena Prime series (except 14mm), facilitating easy lens swaps without rebalancing on gimbals.
- Matched aperture and focus rings with 300° focus rotation for precise control.
- Fluorescent focus scales marked in both metric and imperial units for accurate focus pulls.
- Standard 0.8 mod focus and iris gears compatible with common follow focus and matte box systems.
- Optional NiSi 77mm close-up lens available for macro effects (sold separately).
