The NiSi Athena Cine lenses cover a focal length range from 14 mm ultra-wide angle to 85 mm, including the 25 mm focal length, providing excellent versatility for various shooting scenarios and subjects.
Optical Performance
The 25 mm lens features a maximum aperture of T1.9, allowing for a soft bokeh effect and beautiful background separation. The lenses use T-stop ratings to measure actual light transmission, ensuring consistent exposure. The image circle diameter is 46 mm, suitable for full-frame and large-format sensors.
Mount Options and Image Quality
This lens is available in Sony E-mount without the Drop-In filter system. The Athena Prime lenses offer exceptionally low chromatic aberration and micro-contrast control, delivering unparalleled image quality with fine detail.
Focus Breathing Minimization
The Athena Prime 25 mm lens is designed to minimize focus breathing, meaning changes in the field of view when adjusting focus from minimum focus distance to infinity are very small.
Rear Filter System
This E-mount version does not include the Drop-In filter system. To achieve infinity focus and sharp images, it is important to use a clear filter in the optical path.
Uniform Weight and Handling
All Athena Prime lenses have similar weight and share a 77 mm filter thread size, allowing easy lens changes without rebalancing on a gimbal. Aperture and focus rings are standardized with 300° focus rotation and fluorescent focus scales marked in both imperial and metric units for precise focusing.
Compatibility and Accessories
The lens features standard 0.8 mod focus and aperture gears, compatible with a wide range of follow focus and matte box systems. NiSi offers a 77 mm close-up lens (sold separately) to reduce minimum focus distance and create macro effects.
