The NiSi Athena Prime Cine Lens 25mm T1.9 L-Mount is part of a versatile series covering focal lengths from 14 mm ultra-wide to 85 mm portrait, suitable for a wide range of shooting scenarios and subjects.
Optical Performance and Aperture
This 25 mm lens features a maximum aperture of T1.9, allowing for excellent light transmission and enabling soft bokeh effects with beautiful background separation. The lenses in this series measure T-stop values to ensure consistent exposure. The image circle diameter is 46 mm, supporting full-frame and large-format sensors.
Mount and Image Quality
The 25 mm lens is available in the Panasonic/Leica L mount, offering exceptionally low chromatic aberration and micro-contrast control for fine image detail and superior image quality.
Focus Breathing Minimization
The Athena Prime lenses are engineered to minimize focus breathing, meaning the field of view changes very little when adjusting focus from minimum distance to infinity, regardless of aperture or focal length.
Patented Rear Drop-In Filter System
This lens includes NiSi's patented Drop-In filter mount system, providing filmmakers with enhanced creative control and flexibility.
- L-mount lenses include the Drop-In filter option.
Important Notes:
- To achieve infinity focus and sharp images, a transparent Drop-In filter must be used with L-mount lenses.
- Weather protection is available for the Drop-In filter system.
Uniform Weight and Handling
The 25 mm lens shares a similar weight and handling characteristics with other Athena Prime lenses, allowing lens changes without rebalancing gimbals. It features a 77 mm filter thread size, standardized aperture and focus rings, and 300° focus rotation with fluorescent focus scales marked in both imperial and metric units for precise focusing.
Compatibility and Accessories
Designed for professional use, the lens has standard 0.8 mod focus and aperture gears compatible with a wide range of follow focus and matte box systems. NiSi also offers a 77 mm close-up lens accessory (sold separately) to reduce minimum focus distance and enable macro photography effects.
