The NiSi Athena Prime Cine Lens Set Add-On includes three prime lenses designed for versatile cinematography, covering focal lengths of 18mm, 40mm, and 135mm. These lenses provide a broad range of shooting options from wide-angle to telephoto portrait perspectives.
Aperture and Optical Performance
- The 18mm and 135mm lenses feature a maximum aperture of T2.2, while the 40mm lens offers a faster T1.9 aperture for enhanced low-light performance and soft bokeh effects.
- All lenses deliver ultra-low chromatic aberration and excellent micro-contrast control, ensuring exceptional image quality with fine detail reproduction.
Compatibility and Image Circle
- Each lens projects a large 46mm image circle, compatible with full-frame and large-format sensors.
- This set is designed specifically for Sony E-mount cameras, with support for the proprietary Drop-In filter system.
Focus and Filter Features
- The lenses minimize focus breathing, maintaining a nearly constant field of view when focusing from minimum distance to infinity.
- A proprietary rear Drop-In filter system is integrated, allowing the use of clear or other filters essential for infinity focus and image clarity.
- Note: Sony FX9 cameras cannot use E-mount lenses with Drop-In filters.
Mechanical and Handling Characteristics
- All lenses (except the 14mm model, not included in this set) share a 77mm front filter thread.
- The lenses have similar weights, eliminating the need for gimbal rebalancing when switching lenses.
- Matched aperture and focus rings feature 300° focus rotation and fluorescent focus scales in both imperial and metric units.
- Standard 0.8 mod focus and iris gears ensure compatibility with follow focus and matte box systems.
- An optional NiSi 77mm close-up lens is available separately for macro effects.
