The NiSi Athena Cine Lenses provide a versatile range of focal lengths from 14mm ultra-wide angle to 135mm portrait, covering a broad spectrum of shooting scenarios. These prime lenses feature T-stop ratings ensuring consistent exposure, with maximum apertures ranging from T1.9 to T2.4 depending on the focal length.
Designed for full-frame and large-format sensors, the lenses have an image circle of 46mm and are available in multiple mounts including ARRI PL, Canon RF, Sony E, Panasonic/Leica L, and Fuji G. They offer ultra-low chromatic aberration, micro-contrast control, and exceptional image quality with fine detail reproduction.
Optical and Mechanical Features
- Minimal focus breathing for stable field of view during focus pulls.
- Matched aperture and focus rings across the lens range.
- 300° focus rotation with fluorescent focus scales in imperial and metric units for precise focusing.
- Standard 0.8 mod focus and iris gears compatible with follow focus and matte box systems.
- All lenses (except 14mm) share a 77mm front filter thread.
- Similar weight across lenses to avoid rebalancing on gimbals.
Proprietary Rear Filtration System
The Athena Prime series features a Drop-In filter mount system for creative flexibility. The E-Mount lenses come in versions with and without Drop-In filters. This set includes the E-Mount lenses without Drop-In filters. Note that the Sony FX9 camera cannot use the E-Mount with Drop-In filters. Using the appropriate Drop-In or rear filters is essential to achieve infinity focus and clear images. NiSi also offers weather-sealed Drop-In filters for added protection.
